Signal Prepared Or Unprepared? Evaluating Healthcare Workforce Readiness for Clinical Adoption of AI in Nigeria
Summary
Artificial intelligence is becoming more deeply integrated into healthcare systems worldwide, but whether it is successfully adopted in clinical practice depends heavily on the readiness of the healthcare workforce. This is especially true in low- and middle-income countries, where gaps in infrastructure and training persist. The paper presents a cross-sectional study evaluating how prepared Nigeria's healthcare workforce is for the clinical adoption of AI. The study examines the gap between AI's global integration into healthcare and the actual on-the-ground readiness of practitioners working in a resource-constrained setting. In doing so, it aims to gauge AI clinical-adoption readiness within the specific context of Nigeria.
