Issue Delivering the 2035 NDC and a 100 GW renewable target in a renewables-led transition
Summary
With the new government in 2025, an energy transition centred on renewable energy was chosen as a core national task, opening a period of fundamental change in energy policy. A roadmap raises the renewable installation target to 100 GW by 2030. In November 2025 the 2035 NDC was confirmed at a reduction of 53 to 61 percent from 2018 levels. The report says actual implementation of reductions over the next five years has become the central task. It stresses that although targets and legal foundations exist, a gap persists between goals and delivery, so securing policy effectiveness is the challenge.
