Trend Physical AI medical and care robots interacting with patients in the real world
Summary
Physical AI medical and care robots use artificial intelligence to interact directly with people in physical space and provide medical and care services. Medical applications include surgical assistance, diagnostic support, rehabilitation, drug handling and remote monitoring, while care applications include daily living support, cognitive and emotional support, safety monitoring, medication management and housework. KISTEP expects robots by 2030 to take over repetitive and physically demanding tasks such as moving patients, changing diapers and simple monitoring. AI is expected to move beyond executing programmed motions to generating its own sequences of physical actions, and soft robotics is expected to become common so that robot bodies can touch people safely. Robots are also expected to evolve from passive machines awaiting commands into proactive partners that read patients' emotions and intentions and respond with empathy.
