Signal Reflection AI begins $6.3B compute lease at SpaceX Colossus 2 (Memphis)

Reflection AI, an open-source AI lab co-founded by a former Google DeepMind reward-modeling lead and an AlphaGo co-developer, began paying $150 million a month on July 1, 2026 for access to Nvidia GB300 chips at SpaceX's Colossus 2 facility in Memphis. If the deal runs its full course through 2029, it could total roughly $6.3 billion, and either side can terminate with 90 days notice after the first three months. The company, valued at $25 billion with backing from Nvidia, Sequoia and Lightspeed, has not yet released a public frontier open-source model but has built ties with national-security clients including participants in the Department of Energy's Genesis Mission. The Colossus complex currently houses about 555,000 Nvidia GPUs acquired for roughly $18 billion and is aiming for two gigawatts of total power capacity. This deal is smaller than SpaceX's earlier compute leases with Anthropic and Google. SpaceX shares fell 10.6 percent after the deal was announced despite the added recurring revenue, coming soon after the company's stock market debut valued it at a record level for an initial public offering.
