Signal OLEDoS shipments for XR devices projected to reach 34.6 million by 2030 after a 2025 dip

KISDI reports that OLEDoS, a silicon-based micro OLED panel, is favoured in AR, VR and MR devices because of its ultra-high resolution and small size. Citing Omdia, it reports that weak results at major brands such as Apple and Sony cut OLEDoS shipments for these devices to 3.8 million units in 2025. Continuous product upgrades by leading brands are nonetheless expected to lift global shipments to 34.6 million units by 2030. Samsung Display launched the Galaxy XR with a 4K OLEDoS display in October 2025 in cooperation with Google and Qualcomm and plans to supply panels as it moves into full-scale mass production. Chinese panel makers including Seeya, BOE and Sidtek are also expanding OLEDoS output aggressively, so adoption is expected to rise quickly.
