Signal Preprint introduces ELBench, an integrated benchmark for education-facing LLMs

A study proposes ELBench, a multi-dimensional benchmark for large language models deployed in education. LLMs are increasingly used as tutors, teaching assistants and content generators in classrooms. The benchmark evaluates whether a model simultaneously meets standards of accuracy, safety under sensitive prompts, instructional usefulness and alignment with pedagogical goals. Existing benchmarks have largely assessed these requirements in isolation from one another. ELBench claims to be the first attempt to evaluate education-facing suitability as a single integrated profile.
