Signal 56% of Global Workforce Received No AI Training Despite High Tool Adoption
Summary
Some 56% of workers worldwide received no recent AI training even as adoption of AI tools spread widely, leaving the burden of safe use on individuals without institutional support. Separately, the same source reports that 56% of CEOs surveyed in PwC's 2026 Global CEO Survey said they got "nothing" from their AI adoption efforts. It also cites MIT's GenAI Divide report finding that 95% of generative AI pilots fail to move beyond the experimental phase. Enterprise AI adoption tracking showed a fourfold gap between the highest-adopting function, Product at 18.9%, and the lowest, Finance at 4.7%. Some 45.6% of survey respondents said their organization's workforce AI adoption rate was unknown to them. These findings point to a broad measurement and enablement gap running through enterprise AI deployment in 2026.
