Signal No geroprotector yet proven both safe and effective in humans

Summary

Geroprotectors are interventions intended to slow, prevent or reverse age-related decline and so extend healthspan. Preclinical studies of compounds such as metformin and SGLT2 inhibitors have produced promising results. So far, however, no intervention has been shown to be both effective and safe at slowing ageing in people. Collagen amino acids are a possible exception, although research on them is limited. Interest in the field may grow together with research into how other interventions, such as exercise, mediate or moderate these effects.
