Signal Gartner projects world IT spending to grow 10.8 percent in 2026 and 9.2 percent a year to 2029
Summary
Citing Gartner, KISDI reports that worldwide IT spending is projected to rise 10.8 percent in 2026 to about 6.16 trillion dollars. Growth is driven by expanding demand for software and IT services and by continued rapid growth in data centre systems. Global demand for devices such as computers and mobile phones is expected to slow slightly, yet investment in AI software, IT services and data centres keeps overall growth in the ten percent range. Further out, growth in devices, communication services and data centre systems is projected to ease, including a gradual slowdown in capital spending on AI data centres. Stable expansion of software and IT services, sustained by demand for AI and digital transformation, still keeps average annual growth at 9.2 percent between 2024 and 2029.
