Signal Korean firms hold dominant memory and HBM shares

Summary

The KDI report cites market data showing that Samsung Electronics and SK hynix supplied about 70% of the global DRAM market and over half of the NAND flash market in 2024 and 2025. In high-bandwidth memory, a critical component of AI accelerators, SK hynix held a 62% share in the second quarter of 2025. It is a main supplier of HBM3E used in Nvidia's H100, B200 and Blackwell platforms. The report adds that SK hynix had already sold out its entire 2025 DRAM, NAND and HBM output through the end of 2026. These figures underpin the report's view that Korea occupies a central node in global AI infrastructure.
