Signal Elveo Mobile selects Apex Space to manufacture its 320-satellite D2D constellation
Summary
Elveo Mobile, the satellite direct-to-device company formed by merging Lynk Global and Omnispace, has chosen spacecraft maker Apex Space's Factory X production approach to build its planned 320-satellite low-Earth-orbit constellation. Apex will build a satellite factory dedicated solely to Elveo in the United States, the company's first mass-production facility. That plant is meant to let Elveo ramp up production quickly and gain the technical know-how needed to manufacture at a global scale. Elveo intends to copy the same production blueprint with regional partners to expand manufacturing into Europe and Asia. The network relies on patented satellite technology that complies with the 3GPP non-terrestrial network standard. Onboard processing and networking capability is also meant to let the system adapt and scale as operator needs change.
