Issue Policy task 4: fast-track AI infrastructure and expand the AI workforce
Summary
KISDI's fourth policy recommendation targets the infrastructure and talent constraints on AI investment. It proposes introducing a fast-track system that supports rapid installation of power facilities and data centres so that the pace of AI investment is no longer held back. It also recommends retraining key personnel and actively pursuing policies to attract excellent overseas talent in order to fill the shortage of AI specialists. These measures respond to the report's view that shortages of power, data centre sites and skilled workers are a standing risk to investment. The institute frames faster infrastructure build-out and a larger talent pool as conditions for turning AI demand into domestic growth.
