Signal Korea rolls out AI adoption and diffusion measures across the public sector, manufacturing and education
Summary
Beyond technology development, Korea launched a series of policies in 2025 to push AI into use across the economy. Measures to train AI experts in the public sector were prepared, and the 'AI-based Smart Manufacturing Innovation 3.0' strategy proposes autonomous factories through SME adoption and AI transition along supply chains linking large firms and SMEs. Programmes promoting AI use continue in healthcare, welfare and education. On the diffusion side, the Personal Information Protection Commission published guidance on handling personal data in generative AI, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced ethics principles for AI use by public bodies. The Ministry of Education's 'AI talent for all' plan aims to expand AI education from primary schooling to lifelong learning.
