Signal Pandemics and biorisks drop out of every regional top ten
Summary
Respondents no longer regarded new pandemics and biorisks as highly important, and neither risk made the top ten in any of the seven regions. In the 2024 survey these risks were still rated pressing in Eastern and South-Eastern Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa. In the global importance ranking, each of the two also fell eight places. On timing, respondents largely classed them as long-term concerns. The report places this change six years after Covid-19 and records that multilateral preparedness for such risks is also seen as better than in 2024.
