Signal Deloitte's Q1 2025 CFO Signals puts talent scarcity at the top of finance workforce challenges
Summary
Deloitte links its survey findings on technical skills to its own CFO Signals survey from the first quarter of 2025. In that survey, finance chiefs named a lack of skilled talent as one of the biggest workforce challenges in meeting C-suite expectations for their departments. Other challenges listed were employee engagement, staff resistance to using new technology and work overload. The same survey showed that many finance chiefs consider it likely or very likely that they will use generative AI over the next 24 months to close skills gaps. Insourcing talent from other departments was also a leading workforce response. The findings reinforce the report's view that technology is emerging as an answer to talent scarcity.
