Signal New Jersey awards $6M digital literacy training grants to narrow digital divide
Summary
New Jersey's Department of Labor announced a new Digital Literacy Training Grant program. The program funds nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies, government agencies and higher-education institutions. Individual grant recipients can receive up to one million dollars over an eighteen-month period running from July 30 2026 through January 30 2028. The funding is meant to integrate digital-skills training into workforce programs that already exist. The program follows an earlier funding round that helped nearly 500 residents build digital skills. New Jersey said the effort is intended to keep narrowing the state's digital divide.
