Trend Rapidly rising technical exposure of Korean jobs to AI automation
Summary
The report's AI chapter concludes that the share of workers technically at risk of AI automation will climb very quickly as generative AI spreads and general AI develops. It stresses that this technical potential is not the same as actual substitution. Whether AI is socially and economically accepted will make the realised share differ greatly. Technologies with large effects on people, raising issues of accident liability, personal data, security and discrimination, are likely to be controlled by society through regulation and policy. As a result, even where AI can technically replace human labour, it may be difficult for it to do so in practice, so the way society and firms adopt AI becomes decisive.
