Issue Steering AI adoption and training responses to automation in Korea
Summary
The report's AI chapter concludes that whether human work is actually automated will be decided by how Korean society and firms choose to adopt AI. Technical capability alone does not settle the outcome, because society is likely to control high-impact AI through regulation and policy. KEIS therefore regards responding to technological progress through education and training as an important strategy. At the same time, it calls for deliberate thought about the direction in which AI technology should be allowed to develop. The issue thus combines labour market adaptation with governance choices over AI's trajectory.
