In its sufficiency macrotrend, the report presents technology as a tool for intelligent moderation, using AI, digital twins and integrated resource systems to find optimal limits rather than pursue endless growth. Yet in its infrastructure macrotrend, it describes computing demand exploding because of AI, connected devices and distributed intelligence. Its market tables also forecast steep growth in AI infrastructure, and it frames national control over data and computation as a priority, which may mean duplicated capacity.
