Signal Three of the five fastest-hiring AI markets are unmanned defence categories

Defence categories account for three of the five technology markets with the fastest hiring among AI companies. CB Insights analysed more than 250 markets with at least five AI companies scored for hiring momentum. Loitering munition drones rank first with an average score of 59.2, followed by combat drones at 54.4. Tactical unmanned surface vessels also make the top five at 51.2, alongside large language model developers and cloud GPU providers. The firm reads this concentration as a sign of rising demand for defence capabilities that are unmanned and ready to deploy. Hiring in these markets is focused on bringing such systems into service quickly.
