Signal Think tank analyzes Iranian reactions to Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan 'Mecca Agreement'
Summary
The Israeli Institute for National Security Studies published a report analyzing Iranian reactions to a newly signed security and defense agreement among Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, called the Mecca Agreement. According to the report, experts inside Iran do not currently see the pact functioning as an immediate anti Iran military alliance. They are however wary that it could develop into a new regional security network combining military, intelligence, and industrial capabilities. The analysis suggests that the regional security balance in the Middle East could be reshaped around Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. The report also indicates that Iran is closely watching how the agreement develops going forward.
