Issue Building new infrastructure for the superintelligence era

Summary

Advances in AI, quantum technology, high-performance computing and ultra-fast communications are expected to restructure industrial, urban and social infrastructure as a whole. On the industrial side, clustered data centres, a digitalised power grid and 6G are becoming core drivers of national and industrial competitiveness. In public and everyday infrastructure, AI, robots, 6G networks, digital twins and urban air mobility are being linked in real time with transport, energy, health and administration to create intelligent city operations. Integrated terrestrial-satellite networks, edge computing, post-quantum cryptography and the concept of Urban AI are emerging as new building blocks, while leading cities already apply AI to traffic control and facility management. The panel stresses that community acceptance, environmental impact, data and security risk, accessibility and public trust must be addressed alongside technical build-out and the race for global standards.
