Signal Sector composition of cross-border deals is broadly similar across the four larger markets
Summary
Looking only at the four countries with more than 1.0 percent of M&A activity, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, cross-border deals show a broadly similar sector mix. Business and consumer products and services account for the largest shares of transactions in three of the four. Information technology and financial services also take a substantial share, while materials and resources, health care and energy play smaller roles. The Philippines differs in that consumer deals matter less and IT ranks second by count. Vietnam has relatively many health care deals and Indonesia the largest share in materials and resources, but the overall distribution stays consistent.
