Issue National AI highway infrastructure, sector-wide AI transformation and next-generation AI chips

Summary

Alongside infrastructure and talent for the top-three AI ambition, the report aims for Korea to become the country that uses AI best. A national AI computing infrastructure, called the AI highway, would combine data centres and ultra-fast networks and link with private data centre investment to widen access to AI computation and data. AI would be applied across production and service processes in manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, education, finance and safety. In core public services such as administration, tax and welfare, an AI government model would be standardised. National projects on ultra-low-power AI chips and multimodal foundation models, together with open source and joint research, would aim to lead global technology standards.
