Issue Reimbursement, clinical validation and public data platforms lag behind data-hungry health technologies
Summary
Most of the ten selected technologies are tied to advances in artificial intelligence and assume the accumulation of large volumes of high-quality data. KISTEP finds that Korea's medical fee system, clinical demonstration environment and public data platforms do not yet support this adequately. The report's opening summary likewise treats institutional and platform arrangements for building such datasets as a key precondition for the technologies to spread. For this reason the report sees structural reinforcement in data, institutions and social acceptance as essential before the selected technologies can be realised. It presents its results as baseline material for national technology strategy, research investment, regulatory design and workforce policy.
