Summary

Drawing on the first-year study of the seventh national science and technology foresight survey by KISTEP, the plan sets out four scenarios for the transition to a superintelligent society. In human and AI harmony, rapid AI progress is matched by growing institutional and social acceptance and active adoption across sectors. In an era of technological domination, AI advances rapidly but a lack of trust and institutions prevents it from settling into society. In delayed innovation, public interest stays high but slow progress toward general AI and limits on power supply hold back innovation and diffusion. In AI stagnation, technical innovation stalls and the use of AI remains at its current level.
