Signal Financial services leads all industries in AI agent partnerships in 2025

Summary

Financial services led every other industry in partnerships with AI agent companies during 2025. CB Insights analysed 565 industry-specific relationships up to late November and found finance accounting for 118 of them, or about 21 percent. Other sectors such as consumer and retail, healthcare, industrials and legal each held smaller shares, and US big tech firms were excluded from the count. The firm attributes finance's lead to workflows that are heavy on documents and governed by explicit rules. Such processes make the sector a natural testing ground for autonomous systems. What happens in banking and insurance is therefore presented as a preview of how back-office automation may spread elsewhere.
