Signal KISDI forecasts Korean ICT production to grow 3.2 percent in 2026 and 1.1 percent a year to 2030

Summary

KISDI projects that Korea's ICT production will rise 3.2 percent in 2026 to about 647.4 trillion won. AI-related demand is expected to lift semiconductors, solid-state drives and software strongly, while expanding offshore production and base effects make the headline rate slightly lower than in the previous year. By segment, the institute expects information services to grow 4.3 percent, software 3.2 percent and telecommunications services 0.7 percent in 2026. Between 2026 and 2030 production is forecast to grow only 1.1 percent a year on average and to reach roughly 676.9 trillion won in 2030, as slower display and device output offsets steady chip capacity and software growth. The projections were produced with a dynamic factor model, vector autoregression and the XGBoost algorithm.
