Issue Digital fluency becomes a condition of every role as agents absorb complex tasks
Summary
Deloitte argues that the future workforce will fuse human ingenuity with machine intelligence. With two-thirds of organisations piloting, using or close to deploying agents, teams are expected to blend people, agents and orchestrators. As agents take on more complex tasks, digital fluency stops being a specialist trait and becomes a core skill for every role. The report says the technology organisation's success will likely depend on orchestrating this collaboration so that humans and machines learn and evolve together. It also expects the boundary between IT and the business to blur as technology-fluent roles become the norm. A sidebar interview with Steve Yegge adds that nonprogrammers such as product managers and designers are already joining coding work through AI.
