Signal Quantum Systems raises $1.2B Series D for drone manufacturing (Germany)

Summary

German autonomous drone maker Quantum Systems raised $1.2 billion in a Series D round announced July 2, 2026, co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus and Advent with participation from BOND, Fidelity, Wellington Management, A.P. Moller Holding and others, more than doubling its valuation to about $8 billion — described as the largest defense-technology financing in European history. The Munich-based company, known for its Trinity Pro and Vector VTOL reconnaissance drones (the latter heavily used by Ukrainian forces, flying more than 19,000 missions in Ukraine in 2025 alone), generated roughly €300 million in revenue in 2025 with double-digit EBITDA margins and is profitable, targeting about €600 million in revenue for 2026. Proceeds will fund expanded international operations, higher production capacity, supply-chain resilience and possible acquisitions, alongside continued investment in its MOSAIC UXS software backbone for unmanned operations. Co-CEO Florian Seibel said the company aims to be a "next generation neo prime" disrupting traditional defense contractors, while Blackstone's David Kaden cited a "structural shift" in European defense demand. Morgan Stanley acted as exclusive financial adviser on the deal.
