The first of Gartner's three themes treats the core challenge as one of foundations. It argues that technology leaders must modernise platforms and infrastructure to speed up innovation and strengthen resilience. The trends in this group aim to create AI-ready foundations that provide speed, security and scalability in a hyperconnected world. Three trends fall under it: development platforms built around generative AI, supercomputing platforms for training and running advanced models, and confidential computing. The open question the theme raises is whether organisations can modernise their foundations fast enough to keep up with AI demands.
