Trend Generative AI and AI agents move from pilots to deployment, lifting cloud infrastructure
Summary
KISDI observes that adoption of generative AI and AI agents in Korea's public and private sectors is moving from the pilot stage to initial deployment. Revenue from these new services is expected to rise, and the cloud and other infrastructure industries that support them should grow as well. Citing the Korea Development Bank, the report puts the domestic AI agent market at 163.1 billion won in 2023 and expects average growth of 53.7 percent a year over the following five years. In its 2026 outlook the institute expects information services production to grow 4.3 percent, helped by the reorganisation of services around AI agents and the growth of mobile advertising. Information services thus become one of the faster growing parts of the Korean ICT service sector.
