EY sees healthcare facing a crisis of trust on several fronts at once. Misinformation is weakening confidence in vaccines, and measles outbreaks signal the return of diseases once thought eliminated. Large cyber breaches have exposed patient records in many countries, just as health systems need more interoperability and data sharing for preventive care. Clinicians' authority is also shifting as patients diagnose themselves with AI tools, sometimes with harmful results, while shrinking global health alliances leave surveillance gaps that regional players are starting to fill. EY concludes that trust will be decisive as providers use AI to cut administrative load and personalise care, because patients must believe their data is safe before they share it.
