KPMG는 조직들에 2025년 기술 예산을 어떻게 배분했는지 물었다. 그 결과 지출은 세 가지 유형의 사업에 비교적 고르게 나뉘어 있었다. 유지 보수가 35%, 시스템과 업무 흐름을 조금씩 개선하는 성장 부문이 36%, 사업 모델과 절차를 근본적으로 뜯어고치는 전환 부문이 29%였다. 고성과 기업은 성장 부문에 42%를 배정해 더 큰 비중을 두고 유지 보수에는 덜 쓴다. 보고서는 이런 쏠림이 이들의 앞선 성숙도와 기술 부채를 관리하는 더 나은 규율을 반영한다고 본다. 부채를 잘 다스린 조직일수록 앞으로 나아가는 데 더 많은 돈을 쓸 수 있다는 뜻이다.
