Signal Exhibit 5 states the gap between stated importance of health and felt attainment
Summary
McKinsey's survey of 4,863 consumers in Brazil, France, Germany, the UK, and the US contrasts how much people value health with how well they think they are doing. A majority rate many dimensions of health as important, including cognitive function, heart health, sleep, physical fitness, mental health, stress management, and gut health. Areas such as healthy ageing, weight management, skin and hair care, and sexual health also register, though with somewhat less emphasis. Yet a much smaller share say they are mostly or definitely meeting their wellness goals, and fewer than half feel they are achieving them overall, with the shortfall most pronounced in Germany and France. The report reads this gap between importance and attainment as a sign of unmet demand that products and services can address.
