Trend AI-enabled digital crime and transnational criminal networks outgrow domestic law enforcement
Summary
Digital transformation raises productivity but also brings new social risks. Advanced technologies such as generative AI and deepfakes are being misused for crime. Digital sex crimes that transcend time and space, voice phishing and platform hacking are rising sharply, along with other transnational crimes that disrupt everyday life. Criminal networks operating across borders are becoming more sophisticated, and the report concludes that the traditional domestic law enforcement system alone can hardly respond. It therefore raises an AI safety net against technology-based crime and real support for victim recovery as key policy issues.
