Signal 66% call interaction design important, 6% report great progress
Summary
Most leaders agree that designing the interaction between people and AI matters, yet very few are making real headway. In Deloitte's 2026 survey, 66 percent of respondents said designing effective interaction between machines and the workforce is important for both performance and worker well-being. Some 57 percent reported that efforts are already underway in their organisations. Only 6 percent, however, said they are making great progress. The gap between recognition and results mirrors a pattern Deloitte finds across several of its 2026 trends. It suggests that organisations know what matters but lack the methods to redesign work intentionally.
