Issue Agenda 2: Securing space sovereignty and building a space-technology convergence industry
Summary
KISTEP calls for a whole-of-government approach that treats space as both an economic arena and a strategic security domain. The agenda goal is an innovation ecosystem that secures strategic space sovereignty and realises a converged economy built on advanced space technology in the new space economy era. Its first task designs national core infrastructure around space, including an integrated ground and space network that raises efficiency in security, disaster response and communications, and localises core satellite and navigation components. The second task fuses satellite, climate and communications data through a national data platform open to public and private users. Further tasks set up a procurement and investment system in which public and private actors take part jointly, including a dedicated space industry fund, and seek active participation in standard-setting at international bodies.
