Signal Survey: digital transition seen increasingly positively and US-China conflict less negatively for 2026
Summary
The survey tracks how the public and experts rate the impact on Korea of three external changes, the US-China dispute, digital transition and climate change, across 2024, 2025 and 2026. Digital transition drew the most favourable judgements, and positive views of its 2026 impact rose markedly in both groups. Negative views of the US-China dispute, which had peaked for 2025, fell sharply for 2026 among both the public and experts. Climate change produced mixed judgements, with positive, neutral and negative answers relatively evenly divided. The pattern shows technology change seen as an opportunity while geopolitical and climate pressures remain contested.
