Issue Policy task 1: diversify export markets and products away from US dependence
Summary
The first of KISDI's five policy recommendations is to promote diversification of export markets and products. The institute argues that a national strategy is needed to minimise limiting factors and maximise growth factors in an environment where AI opportunities coexist with infrastructure and trade constraints. It recommends lowering dependence on the United States and spreading sales and production bases toward friendly countries or emerging markets with high growth potential so that firms can respond flexibly to trade threats. It also calls for concentrated support for developing high value-added, high-specification products that can clear tariff barriers. The aim is to strengthen export competitiveness while reducing exposure to any single market's trade policy.
