Signal Respondents would keep purpose and belonging but change innovation and communication norms
Summary
When asked which parts of their current culture to keep or change in light of AI, respondents in Deloitte's 2026 survey drew a clear line. A strong sense of purpose or mission and a sense of belonging were each marked for keeping by 72%, followed by respect for varied perspectives at 63% and supportive teamwork at 62%. By contrast, 58% said the commitment to innovation and improvement needs to change, the only element where change outweighed preservation, and 47% said the same of open and honest communication. Deloitte interprets this as organizations wanting to preserve their core identity while improving recognition, communication and innovation. The report stresses that the right cultural shift depends on fit with each organization rather than on a universal best practice.
