Deloitte argues that decision rights must become flexible when AI takes part in decisions. Traditional frameworks such as RACI assume that authority is fixed and assigned to particular people. With AI involved, rights need to be dynamic, with override powers, escalation routes and consensus rules built into systems. That way humans and agents can work out who decides, when and on what grounds. Atlassian offers an example, having found that unclear lines between AI-led and human-led decisions were creating bottlenecks. Instead of a rigid rulebook, it regularly revisits where AI handles routine work and where people must step in for higher-risk calls, which builds trust through transparency.
