Trend Menopause support becomes a talent-retention priority for employers
Summary
GWI's Workplace Wellbeing Initiative reports that support for menopause at work has shifted from an ignored life stage to a business priority. By 2030, more than 1.2 billion women will be menopausal or post-menopausal, many of them in their peak earning and leadership years. McKinsey estimates that closing the women's health gap could add 1 trillion dollars a year by 2040, with menopause among the largest contributors. Media, femtech and clearer clinical guidance have normalised the topic, and the UK has binding legislation while other regions develop policy frameworks. Employers are responding through formal policy, flexible schedules, manager training, adapted workspaces and peer networks. The Initiative argues that acting now protects leadership continuity and institutional knowledge.
