Signal 64% call AI's decision implications important, 5% report great progress

Most organisations see AI's effect on decision-making as important, yet very few are making real progress on it. In Deloitte's 2026 survey, 64 percent of respondents said addressing AI's implications for decision-making and leadership is important. This covers related skills, decision rights, accountability systems and the balance between human and machine agency. About 62 percent said efforts are underway in their organisations. Only 5 percent, however, reported making great progress. Deloitte concludes that the issue is still emerging despite the risks involved and calls for treating decision-making as a discipline to be deliberately developed.
