Signal Vietnam ranks 39th overall on the strength of Economic Fundamentals
Summary
Vietnam ranks second among the six Southeast Asian growth markets and 39th in the world on the Global Opportunity Index. Its position rests mainly on Economic Fundamentals, where it leads the group thanks to an exceptionally high Economic Performance score. Favorable trade conditions, helped by supply chain reconfiguration, have pushed real GDP growth to 7.1 percent in 2024 and 6.5 percent in 2025 while inflation stayed relatively low. Vietnam also scores well on the Future Environment of Growth and on Financial Size and Condition. Its weak point is the Institutional Framework, where Transparency, Public Governance and Investors' Rights fall below the developing-economy average.
