Signal The Philippines pairs 6th in Economic Performance with 56th in Business Perception
Summary
The Philippines combines very strong growth with uneven investment conditions. With real GDP growth projected at 5.7 percent in 2026 after a rapid post-pandemic rebound, it ranks 6th in the world on Economic Performance and 32nd on Economic Fundamentals. It is second among the six on International Standards and Policy, helped by placing 37th on Economic Openness and 38th on Patents and Trademarks. Against this, it ranks only 56th on Business Perception and 59th on Institutional Framework, with Business Constraints and Public Governance particularly weak. The report warns that these governance and regulatory problems may hold back longer-term investment.
