Signal 56% would accept flaws in cutting-edge AI services
Summary
IBM finds consumers surprisingly tolerant of imperfect AI in products and services. More than half, 56%, say they are excited enough about advanced AI-enabled services to accept that those services have flaws. IBM explains that people understand AI is still learning, so they move on from a chatbot error or give a poor recommendation another chance. That goodwill disappears, however, when customers are surprised by how AI or their data is being used. The signal indicates that the main risk to trust is concealment rather than technical imperfection.
