Summary

This issue proposes a new way of defining productivity for an era of AI assistants and agents. Traditionally, success was judged by output per hour, such as the number of briefs drafted or accounts audited, on the assumption that time produced results. EY argues that with AI, time is no longer scarce and that the binding limits are now human insight and accuracy. Productivity should therefore reflect the quality and effect of results compared with how much human supervision they need. EY offers a formula in which accuracy, relevance and impact are multiplied together and divided by human cognitive input.
