Trend Employees will want more AI - not less

IBM's second trend predicts that employees will ask for more AI at work, not less. In every generational group surveyed, from the youngest workers to those over 60, those who would welcome greater employer use of AI in 2026 outnumber those who would resist it by at least two to one. Employees report that AI already improves how they solve problems, how productive they are and how creative they can be, and 61% say it makes their work less mundane. Many also value training highly, with 56% willing to change employer to get it. IBM advises organisations to map tasks AI cannot enhance, focus people there and build AI literacy across all levels.
